Anne Fadiman

I'm reading The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down which should probably be subtitled "pages of heartache, misunderstanding, heorics, and compassion beautifully captured", and I just saw that Anne Fadiman has a new one called Rereadings that I didn't know about but was published in 2006. I'm excited to read it. Looks wonderful--exploring relationships through literature. She's such a good writer.

I don't know how I missed this -- I'll have to get it. I've read her other books. The Spirit Catches You is a definitive book about epilepsy, in my mind. I'd love to discuss it with you sometime -- I find that as the years go by and I learn more and more about the disease, the more I believe the book is biased in a way that I didn't believe before. We should get together and have a beer and a good book talk with T or something!

That would be great. It looks like she just edited this one, but still - fascinating compilation, I'm sure.
